Ch-ch-changes

As some of you may know, I have been selling some of my paper goods in an etsy shop called the little astronaut. As time has passed (almost a year) I have realized that I wanted to take it much more seriously and build a brand that I can stand behind. So I would like to introduce my new shop midwest modern girl. I have had so much fun with this blog, I thought why not keep it going. Here is one of my new business cards.

I will have a sneak peak on Monday of some of my goods and then the rest of my shop should go live later next week. I will keep you posted.

I love October

The weather, the smells, the tastes...I love everything about October. Last night Brad came home with a surprise, 6 big pumpkins! It was quite the sight of us hauling them all up the stairs to our apartment. We hollowed them out, cleaned the seeds, baked the seeds and carved 2 of the pumpkins. A great way to spend a Thursday night. We used this new recipe for the seeds and they are so good! Happy October.

The Lion King

This past Saturday, I went to see the Lion King with Brad, my mom and my brother. It is part of the Broadway Across America tour. The show was amazing. I remember watching this movie over and over again as a child, so much that my brother and I wore out the tape! The costume design done by Julie Taymor was breathtaking. My favorite character was Rafiki, played by Phindile Mkhize. She has the most amazing voice. If this tour comes to your city you must go and check it out, it is well worth it.

Etsy: beau ideal

I am in love with this calendar. Love love love. Each month is hand silk screened and consists of hand drawn type of names of celebrities in their birthday month. What a fun new take on the calendar.
